In March 2022, Spinifex presented the new project SPINIFEX SINGS, featuring Priya Purushothaman (from the US, based in Mumbai) and Icelandic singer Björk Nielsdottir. Spinifex Sings played the premiere at the Bimhuis, Amsterdam and concerts in Lokerse Jazzclub and Oostende (BE). Henning Bolte wrote:”…a bold undertaking of confrontation, contrast and finally confluent blasts and outpouring… Exciting and surprising how the two uneven sources melded thanks to both voices’ perseverance…” Next for this ensemble will be Moers Festival on 5 June, and a Portugal tour and cd recording in July. https://moers-festival.de/en
